persistent tumor

My husband was diagnosed with rectal cancer Stage1 t2, no, last march. Because he didn’t want a colonoscopy, he opted instead for chemo (fu-5)/radiation (IMRT) and excision of the tumor in July. All went well and his margins were clear. Three months later he has a new tumor in the old spot that the surgeon says has evolved into a more aggressive and undifferentiated one.
