Like you, I also had my thyroid removed due to cancer. That was almost a year and a half ago and I am still fighting to get things back in balance. The parathyroids never kicked back in, so keeping calcium and magnesium levels is almost impossible. I had to have I131 ablation therapy 6 months after surgery as the cancer was still present. I am exhausted on a daily basis and so weak I can hardly function. My hair is falling out, my skin is dry, my vision has gone downhill. Who knew so many things were involved in this? I think people need to know their family history and have this chcked out. Too often we, as women, are told it's the cahnge of life thing....and it isn't it's thyroid disease or cancer. Keep on your doctors about checkups. And demand a test if they don't volunteer you for one.
