could this be testicular cancer?

Post a new topicby sballen123 on Thu Mar 19, 2009 4:34 pm

Hello, I am a 23 year old Caucasian male. I have recently noticed a small pea sized lump beside the right testicle on the upper side. I actually noticed it a while ago (couple years, not sure exactly how long) but thought nothing of it until now. It has not changed size or anything but It just dawned on me it could be something serious. It is totally painless and does not bother me at all. I was also born with an undescended testicle (not sure which testicle however the left one hangs lower than the right). The lump does not seem to be part of the testicle however right beside it because it's like a sphere and not a bump on the actual testicle. It does however seem to be connected to a chord or something at the testicle because it is in the same place all the time. Could this be cancer or is it probably a cyst? And should I see a doctor, if so what kind?

Hello,

Definately go to your GP and get it checked out. They can refer you to a Urologist if necessary. I cancelled one of my appointments because I felt normal again and I didn't really want to go, but I wish I'd gone. It might be a matter of life and death.

Cancer Research has a website with symptoms etc.
