melanoma in lungs2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with melanoma, Clark's level 3, which was removed and a sentinel node biopsy was done. The frozen section of the lymph node was negative but PCR testing stated that it was positive for melanoma.I had more lymph nodes removed and did the one month of inteferon chemo per a clinic trail that I am involved in. Now I had been diagnosed with melanoma tumors in both lungs. Besides removal of the tumors what kind of treatment is available next. Thanks.
Re: melanoma in lungsConsideration could be given to using high dose interleukin-2; other
possibilities include Temodar, single agent DTIC or aggressive combined chemobiotherapy ala MD Anderson protocol. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck. Re: Re: melanoma in lungsI had the larger of the two nodules removed. A repeat CT scan at 3 months showed that the small nodule in the other lung is still at 5 mm and there are no other metatastic areas. At this time the oncologist has only offered Leukine shots. I feel like this is not enough, should I be looking for another opinion?
