Hi,
My sister was diagnosed with a stage 2b melanoma on her abdomen, it was 7mm.
It was surgically removed ,a senital node biopsy was not done, due to the size and duration of presence a certain degree of spread was presumed and she was commenced on interferon.
For her followup treatment 6 monthly ct scans were scheduled, is this enough? She is 30 years of age and will be considering a family once the interferon is finished and it is safe to do so. In this case what is the maximum number of scans she should expect?
What other follow up tests can I advise her to ensure she gets?
