Re: basal cell cancinomaIf a basal cell carcinoma is suspected, it is first usually biopsied (a small piece taken and sent for evaluation) to confirm that suspicion. Treatment is based on thise results. Sometimes, a lesion is so characteristic of a basal cell carcinoma that a definitive procedure to eradicate it is done without the biopsy.
