Cayenne Pepper seems to have cured my prostate cancer!!In April 2006 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a biopsy - Gleason score 6(3+3). I was strongly urged to have the prostate removed immediately. I refused & starting doing research. I found a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/UCLA School of Medicine study that said that capsaicin (the stuff that makes pepper hot) fed to rats bred to have human prostate cancer had caused the tumors to die! (I put a link here to the study report but it has been removed by the admin - search for "prostate cancer study" & you will find it)
I immediately started taking cayenne pepper capsules daily. I took the equivalent human dose from the study & made that my goal. I gradually consumed more each week until I reached what I thought was the right dose. I had improved symptoms within the first two weeks - urination was easier - I had not been able to reach orgasm at the time of diagnosis but that too improved & is still improving. Last month I decided to see a urologist to see what was involved in "Watchful Waiting" - he wanted to do another biopsy since it had been two years - I agreed & the results came back clean - they found no cancer - not a trace! My doctor was stunned & said that in 18 years he had never seen such a result. We had it double checked & I am indeed cancer free. I am confident it was the cayenne that made the tumor disappear - given the study results. I plan to keep taking it indefinitely & I recommend it to any male who has been diagnosed with either BPH or prostate cancer.

While I do not doubt you, I would suggest not very scientific. There are many who would like to have accurate detail of this treatment. Has your Dr thought of publishing your cure in a Medical Journal. You both owe it to all those with Prostate Cancer out there.
Best wishes, K.D.
Re: Cayenne Pepper seems to have cured my prostate cancer!!I am taking 5 (100,000 heat unit) cayenne capsules with each of two meals daily.
My urologist was not involved in my descision to take cayenne - he was killed in a plane crash shortly after my diagnosis. You used the word "unscientific" - have you read the scientific study I based my actions on?
Sponsored LinksRe: Cayenne Pepper seems to have cured my prostate cancer!!No, I have not read the 'sientific study', you said the site details had been removed. There are very many prostate cancer studies online.
The points I would like clarification on are - you state you started on the 'human dosage used in the study', then gradually consumed more each week - why? Most unsientific I'd suggest. Nevertheless, you state last month you saw a Urologist who suggested another biopsy, to which you agreed, and the results were negative- great. Your Dr was stunned (the Urologist?) saying in 18 years he had never seen such a result(is it he who died in the plane crash?) I find it unusual that a Dr would suggest a biopsy unless your PSA was above an acceptable level for your age, or the velosity indicated further investigation - had it been going up? I do not doubt what you say, however there are people out there who are desperate, and are willing to try anything. Should they follow your lead incorredtly, then the consequences may be too dreadful to contemplate, when in fact they may have decided on a more proven treatment. We all have a responsibility to ensure we do not mislead people, even unententially. I would suggest you contact the people who first published the study, give them your detailed Medical reports to date, they are best placed to deal with the matter and report it for the benifit of all those who may be suitable for such treatment. Best wishes, K.D.
Re: Cayenne Pepper seems to have cured my prostate cancer!!OK KD, I agree that everything I did was "unscientific".
I wasn't trying to be scientific, I was trying to save my ass! However, my actions were predicated on & extrapolated from a scientific study. You really should read it. It is a study done by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/UCLA School of Medicine sponsored by the American Cancer Society. You can find it if you search using those terms + capsaicin. I saw no doctor for two years after the initial round of consultations. My symptoms were improving steadily during that period but after two years I went to a new urologist to find out what "watchful waiting" entailed. After I told him my story he wanted to do a biopsy & so did I. My current urologist isn't interested in following up on my experiment because he believes it was a miracle rather than the pepper! I am not advocating any treatment or dosage to anyone - I am sharing my experience - make of it what you will - share it with your doctor & see what he says. My approach is surely not for everyone but it seems to have worked wonderfully for me. There is a growing body of scientific findings that indicate that capsaicin is effective against any cancer. You doctor may have even heard of some of them. All normal cells eventually die due to a process called apoptosis. Cancer cells grow indefinitely by somehow turning off apoptosis. Capsaicin causes the cancer cells to die through apoptosis as do normal cells. I know there are desperate people out there but there is no "incorrect" way to follow my lead - I made up the rules myself -decided on the dosage & took the risk. If someone else wants to take more or less, good for them. It is just pepper & it is considered GRAS by the FDA. Remember, I have never advocated that ANYONE disregard their doctor's advice about treatment but it is ultimately a decision that can only be made by the patient. My case was unique in the following ways: my age (70) was very close to the point where watchful waiting is normally recommended. I had a very small tumor with the lowest Gleason score, nevertheless all three doctors I consulted with recommended immediate killing of the prostate either by the knife, radiation or chemicals. I chose to do some research & am very happy that I did. Maybe I'm not sharing this in a way that meets your standards, KD, but this is what happened to me. BTW, I did email two people who participated in the initial study & got no reply. Regards, Bill PS: There is a very vigorous discussion of my story on another forum called The Cancer Forum. (I hope it is not against the rules to mention another forum here! If so, mea culpa!) There you will find input from a urologist who joined the discussion not having heard of the study - he then did his own research & has started taking cayenne himself!
Re: Cayenne Pepper seems to have cured my prostate cancer!!I am glad things have worked out well for you as I am for anyone who beats the PC scurge. It may have been a miracle or the cayenne pepper who knows, but it would be worth finding out, don't you think? That's why I suggested you contact those who did the origional study and give them all your data, they can use it to best effect - scientifically!
Sorry you appear to be offended by my input. As your reply has a somewhat angry tone I think we should terminate this discussion. My best wishes for the future. K.D.
