waiting game

Post a new topicby lala17 on Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:58 pm

I'm used to the waiting game. I was diagnosed with Lupus
Sjogrens Syndrome, and Fybromyalgia two years ago, and
it seemed I waited more than anything. My cycles have always
been irregular, but I've never experienced anything like what
is going on now. I'm 37 years old and have never had children.
My fiance called things off last may because he didn't want to
deal with my illness any more. Good for me, or at least I see that now.
About three months ago, I was bending over in the shower and I got
this blinding pain in my right side pelvic area. It felt like something
was there, but I blew it off. My body is so messed up these days. My
Rheumatologist sent me to a Nephrologist three months ago due to
uncontrollable hypertention, back pain, and frequent urination. I have
fluid build up in my legs and my abdomen is larger than usual. I've gained
10 pounds for no reason.
I don't know what's normal any more. Well, I'm now going on my
6th week being on my cylcle. This is the first week it hasn't been
extremely heavy. I got concerned last week and called my obgyn.
She scheduled an ultrasound and labs. In the process of the transabdominal
ultrasound wednesday, the tech said "so you say you've never been pregnant?"
I assured her I had not, and asked her what she saw to question my response.
Of course she couldn't say anything. She then decided she needed to do a
transvaginal ultrasound. I'm not sure why. I'm now waiting on my obgyn's call. It's
torture. After reading so many of the posts, it sounds like my story is quite
common. I'm trying not to worry because I really have no reason to worry right
now, but I'm having a hard time convincing my head of that. I want to be educated
when I go in to see my obgyn so no stone is left unturned. Thank you everyone for
your time. I wish you all the best.
