Any Advice? Please

Post a new topicby mesra on Tue Oct 14, 2008 7:42 pm

I am 42 years old . I have been experiencing many different symptoms . I originally saw my OD for the following issues: non-stop indegestion (belching) , constipation/diarreha, pain in my lower right abdomen and heavy bleeding . I have been given medicine for IBS two times and have been placed on anti-depressants so many times now I lost count. I finally visited the GYN who did a hysterectomy (I still have both ovaries )at my request ; they did a vaginal removal and had to cut it up in pieces due to the fact that it was the size of approx. a 3 month pregnancy. That solved the bleeding problem but none of the others.
That was a little over two years ago . I have had continual problems since that are getting worse. I still have the belching, on and off constipation, belly swelling that is getting more frequent and worse, back pain, pain in my right side that is now covering the area from my right hip to under my rib cage (it has also started waking me up at night) . I am unable to lie on my right side at all due to the pain. And I also have unexplained swelling in my right ankle. I had that examined with no answer since I had not done anything physical to injure it; it stays so swollen my shoe is barely fitting on that side and is really sore.
I am at my wits end. I do not know who to go to for help. I am scared that a visit to the doctor will only result in another trip home with anti-depressants and making me feel nuts again.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered a second opinion? I was dx ovarian cancer stage 111 and immediately went to see an gyn oncologist who did my surgery debulking and removal of omentum. Don't just worry about it get more than one opinion and then decide where to go from there. I hope this helps some.
