8 CM MASS

Post a new topicby jaynenjeff on Sat Jan 12, 2008 6:16 pm

My wife went to ER due to mild abdominal pain (LLQ), thinking a possible bladder infection or ureter (sp?) infection. Doc felt need for CT scan suspecting diverticulosis. CT scan twice, and then vaginal ultrasound revealed a 8 cm "tumor" according to ER doc and hospital floor internist. Likely malignant. GYN called in to look at films, said just a large fluid filled cyst or possibly blood filled cyst. Look at it again in 10 days (when he gets back from vacation) and do possible laproscopy. Probably won't even remove ovary.

These opinions are from one extreme to another. 3 1/2 inch cancerous tumor vs. a "don't worry about it" cyst.......

Don't know if there was a CA125. Have ordered copies of medical records. Seeking 2nd opinion.

We are kind of lost as to what to think at this point.
Any similar experience with symptoms, etc.

THanks

rare ovarian cancer

Post a new topicby candlemaker on Fri Apr 10, 2009 9:00 pm

Hi, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in June 2007, had a total hysterectomy in Oct. 2007. Now in April 2009 I have a recurrence a tumor on my liver and two in the pelvic area. I had CA125, CEA and CA 19-9 done once the numbers wear a little high and the 2nd time they were fine. But yet my ct scan shows these tumors. I was wondering if this ever happened to anyone else. I am to start chemo on April 23, 2009 carbo and paxil.
