I’m NOT on the “A-listâ€I am 63 years old, a counselor and certified sex therapist, and very very healthy. I am NOT on the “A-list” of “women who are more likely to get Ovarian cancer. As I matter of fact, in September of 2006, I was on the perfect list of women who should not get ovarian cancer My only marker for it was that I am post menopausal.
I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in October (2006) as a result of going to my GYN for a yearly PAP. She was doing an internal exam and said “I th...Read the full article
Re: I’m NOT on the “A-listâ€Peg, Thank you for your wonderful and inspiring article. My daughter sent it to me. I was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer, had one ovary removed in emergency surgery, and don't even know anything else until my appt. with my surgeon scheduled for Feb. 13th. The waiting and not knowing is the worst part and getting through the haze of being told I have cancer. I immediately felt I was gonig to die and your have made my day and my outlook so much brighter! I am 58, I own a children's theater company and have 2 beatiful grandsons that I am looking forward to watching grow up1 Thank you and I hope you are doing well!

i am not on the A-ListPeg,
Thank you for sharing your story. My mother in law will be starting this very soon. She has a visit with the oncologist this Wednesday. She has been told by GYN that she has Ovarian Cancer based on CA-125 results combined with Omentum Caking. I assuming this will likely mean a stage IV leveling, but it is not clear from the myriad of available research. Your story really helped with a lot of questions regarding the length of time from Surgery to end of Chemo. Hopefully your results will continue and hers will equal. If possible, you could send an email with any questions/suggestions for her visit with the oncologist. [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed]
CA-125I just went to my OBGYN and was told I had a cyst on my right ovary the size of a golfball. Then they called back and stated that my CA-125 was high and wants to send me to a specialist. A oncologist.
Does having a high CA-125 always mean cancer? I am scared.
