BE THERE TO LISTEN. AND DON,T SAY I CAN IMAGINE HOW YOU FEEL. I WAS DIAGNOSED IN JULY WITH A RARE NHL. LUCKLY I AM IN VERY EARLY STAGES. I AM A NURSE, BUT NOW A PT. I HAVE DONE ALOT OF COUNSELING. BUT ITS DIFFERENT WHEN YOU ARE ON THE OTHER END . EDUCATE YOURSELF AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. THERE ARE ALOT OF VERY GOOD SITES . I FIND THE NATIONAL CANCER CENTER IS ONE OF THE BEST. ENCOURAGE YOUR FRIEND TO JOIN SUPPORT GROUPS. YOU KNOW YOUR OWN BODY BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE , YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO IT. ENCOURAGE HER TO ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS, NONE ARE TOO STUPID ,YOU SHOULD NEVER STOP LEARNING, ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS YOUR BODY AND HEALTH AND IT MAY BE A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH.GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR FRIEND.CJBT

Just bringing a meal to her every once in a while is a great way of supporting her. Find out her favorite restaruant and order what she likes and tell her not to cook that night. We have had friends do that for us and it really takes a load off! As far as emotional support....Just listen to her and let her cry if she needs to.
