URGENT need help w/pulmonary nodulesI ended up in emergency on July 2007 and they accidently found 5mm pulmonary nodules. Finally met w/pulmonary specialist about 3 weeks ago and took another complete CT which they found 10mm-8mm nodules but the doctor said not to worry that many people live w/10 mm nodules and he would request another CT in 3 months to make sure they have not progressed. But recently I have started coughing & have shortness of breath. But not sure if it's because I am just recovering from a flu/cold with coughing a few weeks ago.
Should I worry? I have never smoked and no family history of lung cancer Should I worry & get another doctor or wait another 2 months for another CT? I hope there is someone out there who can help me?
Re: URGENT need help w/pulmonary nodulesAnother doctor ??? heck yes. No smoking or family history?? It doesnt matter. There are things in the air that can give a person cancer. You might need a biopsy and/or bronchoscopy. A PET scan is also helpful, if the areas light up - then the doctors know its cancer. How do I know what I know?? - Hubby has cancer (lung & brain) - Dont stop at one doctor. I wish you the best in your search to find out whats going on with your body. Remember --knowledge is power !!! nancy
Re: URGENT need help w/pulmonary nodulesI absolutely agree! A second dr. is necessary. When my mom went in for backpain, the doctor told her that she should have had a chest scan (that was missed) because she smoked. Had he done this, they would have most likely caught it before it spread.
