Tumor on the lungMy father-in-law, who I love very much, has been told he has a tumor on the lung. He has had a bone scan and is awaiting the result. The Consultant has recommended that no further investigations be carried out because this will cause my F-I-L more pain and will not be of any benefit. If the bone scan shows any areas of infection he will be given radiotheraphy for the affected parts. The Consultants decision is to control the pain and let my F-I-L to go home when he is strong enough. Does this mean there is no hope for my F-I-L and it's only a matter of time, and there is nothing that can be done for him?. The Consultant was not clear when he spoke to the family and at no time did he use the word CANCER. I ammume that because they are not going to carry out any surgery they are of the opinion the tumor is cencerous. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate an e-mail to [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed] (I appologise but I can only speak english (and I'm Scottish).
Thank you to whoever can help me in this difficult time. I lost my father 4-years ago to cancer, but that was a much clearer situation that I have to deal with now.
