Stage IV Adenocarcinoma

Post a new topicby Prayingfordad on Mon Jun 02, 2008 7:09 pm

My dad was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma back in September. I believe he was in stage III then and it was inoperable. He did go through chemo but this basically kept things stable and didn't shrink anything. He was told it wouldn't cure him but may help give him time. We were told he had probably a year at that time.

He just had another scan and it sounds like his other lung now has moderate fluid in it, and it has spread to the stomach, and liver area. They may offer him chemo again but I know he doesn't want to go through that again.

Do you know what kind of prognosis we are looking at if he does not go through the chemo and what kind symptoms to expect from this point forward?

Thanks!
