lung cancer small cell husband age 50I am a nurse of 20 years and I have been around alot of this. My husband of 50 years of age was diagnosied 1 year ago with small cell lung cancer We have done 3 courses of chemo with the last chemo involving radiation as well at a low dose of chemo. When we started the chemo the mass was a size 5cm. and reduced to a 2cm then when we did the Ct it had grown back to the 5cm and that is when we went to chemo and radiation on the last treatment. He surffered the esoghattis and we had to stop 5 days before he had finished the 30 day course. We stopped for 3 days and he was able to finish the course. We now have a month break. His cancer involves the bronchial,so this is terminal we know. I am looking for any new treatement there is. I understand that Dr. Yanillia of Lexington Kentucky and his partener have researched on a vaccine that patients can take after what every there treatment was that will prolong or help there cancer not to come back.I am looking for any means that is available anywhere. I would greatly appreciate any help that you could give.He was a very healthy person until tis was diagnoised. Never sick! We are from Va. He has a ongolist in Blcksburg, Va. You can also e-mail me at V Carner@vt.edu Thank you for any help or info that you can give
Re: lung cancer small cell husband age 50I must admit that I do not know much about Dr. Yanilla's work but it would be worth calling his office to discuss it. You can also look for clinical trials on this website and through the NIH. I hope this helps.
