Discoloration of skin

Post a new topicby bufferjet on Wed Aug 01, 2007 1:02 pm

I have a friend that is 66 years old and she has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and has been given 8 to 18 months to live. She now suffers with a super bad cough and discoloration of the skin around her face and neck. It goes from a light brown like a tan to a dark brown like a burn. She takes chemo treatments once a week and sometimes she doesn't receive the treatments because of her blood count being so low. I have also seen a discoloration around both of her elbows. Can anyone possibly tell me what is going on with this and is it caused from the chemo?

A concerned friend.

It would be hard to know with out knowing which chemo agents she is on, some skin color changes may be due to a decrease in oxygen
