after lung removalMy husband had his right lung removed after being diag. with lung cancer after surgery while in the hospital he came down with pneumonia and had to be placed on a ventilator for several days almost 2 weeks he was kept on a adavant drip and given morphine he is now off ventalator and at home he is still quite confused his eyes look almost empty of thought. He has been off ventilator for 6 days now and been home 2 of those days starting to get worried about his confusion the nurse that is checking him at home doesnt seem to be concerned she said he is still trying to fight the affects of the adavan. My question is how long does this drug actually stay in the tissues and when should I insist on something further I almost lost him during this whole ordeal and I dont want to take this chance again. PLEASE HELP DESPERATE
AND SCARED IN MICHIGAN
Re: after lung removalit can take several days for the medications to completely wear off. his physician should be on top of this situation and monitoring his neurological status.
