My mother is 79 years old and last week, she was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. It started the week of Thanksgiving when she went to the doctor for shoulder pain. They found a tumor and later learned that she had cancer that shattered her shoulder. Then a few weeks ago, she started feeling short of breath, and last week she was diagnosed with the lung cancer. Her breathing is becoming more difficult by the day, and I feel she needs to be on oxygen. Her Oncologist is on vacation until December 21st, but hopefully we will be able to get her some assistance before then.

I am still in shock over this devastating news, and I refused to think too much about it during the holidays, but it is time for me to face reality. Today, I decided I better educate myself on lung cancer, and I came across this forum where I read your post. Any advice or suggested reading would be appreciated, and of course prayers. I will pray for your Dad too.

Just wanted to let you know that I will be praying for your father and for your family. My best friend was just diagnosed with lung canceer over the holidays. Her name is Rita. She is 48 years old and is precious to so many people. Please keep her in your prayers also.
