WBC Count any insight?

Post a new topicby christinecornwell on Mon Aug 11, 2008 10:31 am

I have been referred to Rheumatologist due to abnormal blood work results. I have not been diagnosed with cancer. Overall, I am extremely tired 24/7 and have a small patches of purple/red dotted rash on my uppers arms. Consistently, have fullness feeling and chronic pain. And I am being tested for a series of autoimmune diseases and I will not have the results for another week.

My concern is that I saw my original lab results:
WBC 31.7
Hemolglobin 15.5
Hematocrite 46.6
MCV 102
MCH 34.1
Monocytes 3
Neutrophils absolute 17.2
Lymphs absolute 6.3
Basophils absolute .9

I read that an increase in basophils are very rare. Chronic myelogenous leukemia and other blood cancers are linked to this type of increase. My maternal grandmother died after a battling chronic myelogenous leukemia. Again, my lab results have not been returned.

In the meantime, any ideas based on my above lab alerts.
