Philadelphia Chromozone

Post a new topicby Guest on Sat Jan 05, 2002 3:26 pm

I am a 31 year old Male, diagnosed in May of 2001 of CML. I am considering a BMT. I have the Phili. Chrom. and only know a very little about it. I would like to know all I can know about my disease before the BMT, or does this chromozone defect have any effect, positive or negative, on the BMT process? Can't seem to find any info on it, I would appreciate any feedback.
Thank you

More than 95% of all CML's are Ph chromosome positive. It is considered a
marker for the disease. It has no impact on the outcome of a BMT. Thank you
for using oncologychannel and good luck.
