Frequent fevers

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jan 13, 2002 11:20 pm

My 6 year old daughter has been experiencing frequent fevers. She has had 4 bouts of fever in 6 weeks. The highest temp is 102. She has no other symptoms except for being slightly pale. Is this a sign of leukemia? Should I take her to the MD?

You are obviously concerned about your daughter and I would suggest that you
take her to a pediatrician for an evaluation and proper examination. Thank
you for using oncologychannel and good luck.

HI, i have a 4 1/2 year old daugher who for the last year has been having fevers. She was having them on a 21 day cycle and same as yourself, the only real symptoms have been a high fever sometimes going up to 105, no appetite, pale, dark circles under her eyes and very lethargic. She has urine tests done and it showed blood in the urine, so she is on a medication for a kidney disease but i am told the fevers are not related. I have the same fear as you and fear a more serious condition. She has had numerous tests and nothing yet. YOu should keep track of all fevers, what she eats, the length of time, and any other symptoms. My daughter just had another fever this week for 4 days. If you want to chat , it would be great. Sometimes i feel like i am being nuerotic but mothers intuition is usually right. Hope this info helps.
