renal cell carcenoma

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Sep 02, 2002 12:50 am

My husband had a cancerous kidney removed on May 28th. They told us the cancer was contained and that the lymph nodes were clean. After several weeks, he was not getting better. He developed fever and was very weak. He was readmitted into the hospital and they started treating him for an infection. They did a biopsy of some small lymph nodes around the stem of the kidney that was taken out and discovered some cancer cells. He is treating this with immunotherapy. His prognosis is very good and they told us the nodes were vey small. He has been in depression and he gets a fever followed by sweating profusely. He also gets spasms in his stomach, neck and back. Are these all symptoms of the disease?

I do not know, as there can be some side effects from immunotherapy.
Please keep his doctor informed of the symptoms and his progress.
