Kidney Cancer

Hi, just looking for advice, my husband had a scan yesterday, and they said he had a kidney stone, which is tiny and he should be able to pass it, but on the same kidney they found a 1.3cm soft tissue mass at the top of the kidney, the dr said they don,t know what it is , but he said it could be cancer or one of many things but he did not say what else it could possibly be.
any ideas on what this could be , we are both pretty worried at the moment, i thought that they could tell if it was cancer from the ct scan, but the dr wants him to go back in a few weeks for a biopsy, any ideas thanks julie.

Hopefully it is not Kidney Cancer. The good news is that if it is, it is small enough to be removed and given its size probably has not spread. That being said if it is Kidney Cancer your husband is likely to have a full recovery. Make sure the Doctor reading the CAT scan is a Urologist, Oncologist or Surgeon familiar with Kideney Cancer and not just a GP.
