Looking for help....Hi there,
I am really worried about my Mom. She is 71 and in good health. She has had major back problems and pain for years. But, she came home from holiday about a month and a half ago, and agressively pulled a heavy suitcase off the baggage thingy. Since then she has had major pain across her lower back and flank pain on both sides, aswell as lower abdominal "muscle pain". In the last couple weeks the pain in the right flank subsided, and the left has gotten alot better. She was in so much pain initially, she said to me "I hope it's not my kidneys." As of today all her pain is subsiding but her abdominal pain is still constant. From what I have been reading these are sure signs of kidney cancer Am I right? Thank You for any feedback.
Re: Looking for help....Kidney Cancer may mask itself as back pain, but by no means is back pain a sure sign of Kidney Cancer.
Discus your concerns with a doctor and if the Doctor feels that Kidney Cancer is a possibility he will order a CAT scan which will show if this is Kidney Cancer or possibly some other problem. You do not get Kidney Cancer from pulling a heavy piece of luggage as you describe it, but the chronic long term back pain should be checked out, possibly by an Orthopedic Surgeon..
Re: Looking for help....As a Kidney Cancer survivor God willing, my pain did not start with one issue. I truly feel that a cat scan ill sho the problem - I do not feel it will be kidney cancer. If it is, which I doubt, then she has a great chance of recovery
