Due to a bicycling accident (had CT Scan) my kidney cancer was discovered in October 2005. Only symptom I had (didn’t realize it at the time) was some back pain. My right kidney was removed Jan 2006. I had close to the same issue as you do except that my cancers were separated by 14 years. In 1990 I had my left kidney removed and was fine until 2004. In 2004 cancer turned up in my right kidney. The doctor that did my surgery in 1990 was and still is my doctor. He did not feel comfortable with my new situation and sent me to UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca. There I met Dr Arie Beldegrun who removed half of my right kidney. I have been fine since then. Please get a second opinion if you haven't done so yet. I do not know where you live but if you haven't done so a trip to a large medical school would be worth it. Dr Belldegrun did tell me that freezing the tumor is an option that they do at UCLA. I wish you the best.
