Clear of HD???

Post a new topicby bolong on Tue Sep 09, 2008 4:29 am

My 16 year old son was diagnosed with HD Stage 3B in March '08 and immedaitely underwent chemotheraphy. His 6th and last chemo was last month, Aug 08. Now, he is to undergo further tests (CT Scan, bone marrow, etc) to check how his body responded to the treatment. We are now quite worried not knowing what to expect from hereon. Just want to ask some questions:
1. will the tests show that he completely beat the disease?
2. my son started to feel some itchiness again on his body. is this something unusual?
3. we live here in the philippines and i am not that confident that we are getting the best treatment possible for my son's ailment. can someone give me suggestions on how where can i possibly seek 'better' treatment. and are there some kind souls who can help me and my family go through tis very trying times?

Hi Vinnie here, i'm in my early fifties much older than your son,i have Hodgkins,NS Stage 3b,area infected was my abdomen,it's been 2yrs now in remission, yes i do itch a lot sometimes,i was getting a ct-scan every 6mos after chemo-therapy,now it,s every year, your son has an excellent prognosis due to his age as he grows his immunity will be much stronger,my latest scan seen slightly increased lymphadenopathy in the same location,my oncologist said not to worry,we'll monitor the blood tests every 6mos ,from experiences i know all the symptoms just as your son knows-keep the faith-Vinnie
