18 years swollen lymp nodes in neck -Hard lump inside now. HI have had thses lumps in my neck for 18 years. They developled after extreme medical problems! For many years they were soft and rubbery but, now they have a hard lump in them. They interfere with ROM of my head, neck, and shoulders. Sometimes, they swell so bad I cannot eat or drink and sometimes.... can hardly breathe.
Many Dr.'s have looked at them, manipulated them and watched me wince and cry out in pain... but, they were pretty much ignored all these years. There may be notes in my files... maybe not.... because, most Dr's ignored them! I have a long list of medical problems all documented over the years that I believe tie into these lumps some how. I've already been turned down by 2 medical testing facilities because... 1. I had to give up my insurance of 20 years in Jan 07 2. Even though I have had these for 18 years there is not a long history of trying to find out what they are! Because,....THEY WERE IGNORED!!! This is almost ironic! I spend 18 years complaining about them... nothing was ever done to find out what they are.... And I'm not eligible for research! Anyway.... I am not sure what i have... I only know I am very scared now. If anyone can help, i would be happy to provide my long and extensive medical history. Thanks for taking the time to read this, it is appreciated.
Re: 18 years swollen lymp nodes in neck -Hard lump inside now. HSince I am apparently blogging to myself, I will just occasionally post and update.
I have been researching these lumps for about 15 years now and in doing so, brought it to their attention (several Dr.’s) and they turn and run from me. It is not just going to a any Dr., it’s also finding one that can think outside the box and diagnose them correctly… not run away or sweep them under the carpet. You’d be surprised at the amount of Med. Pros that push it by the wayside because they don’t know. Since this was first posted, I have looked at Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma…. Which led to Adiposis dolorosa, since I have fatty lumps on my hand, my belly button, my knee, and IN my nose. The lumps on my hand, knee, and belly button have only been in the last 5 years. The lumps in my neck have been here for 18 years and the lumps at the base of my head in the back have been around for 31 years. All different time lines. The lumps in my neck I am worried about. I think they may have progressed to possibly Hodgkins or non hodgkins due to an enlarged liver and spleen, dry skin, hair, etc. etc.. The trick is aparently finding a doc that knows how to treat these lumps when I no longer have insurance. I am very ill and don’t check back too often, but I welcome any input from everyone.
Re: 18 years swollen lymp nodes in neck -Hard lump inside now. HSorry to hear you are having trouble getting med attention. I can totally relate i have been dealing with symptoms for 3 years and have no insurance and i keep getting pushed off to the next Dr. now i have a large node in my throat/neck that is hard and is getting bigger every day now i am stuck with not getting a biopsy due to no insurance. cancer runs heavy in my family. my newest symptom that i am adding to large nodes in left side of neck, jaw and back of neck, the hard one is on the right side of neck. night sweats, chills extreamly tired but still working, and let's not forget the ear pain like something is pinching. now i add my ear on the left has been bleeding i don't know what to do next. so i feel for you my friend.
hope all goes well with you
