Undifferentiated carcinoma and non hodgkin's lymphoma

Post a new topicby ezl1117 on Sun Oct 21, 2007 11:25 pm

Hi! I just want to make some things clear since I am confused about my father's condition. He had bee diagnosed with Undifferentiated carcinoma in the sinus cavity on April 2007 and underwent radiation for 30 sessions, a month after he was rushed to the hospital due to anemia and had blood transfusion. He was experiencing pain in his upper addomen that time and found out during the endoscopy that he had cancer in the stomach, diagnosed as non hodgkin's lymphoma. And then early this month received again blood transfusion because he colllapse due to low hemoglobin. Right now, we are waiting for his laboratory result for a cytokeratin and LCA special study in order for the doctor to differentiate the two tissues from the other, the ethmoid and gastric tissue. So as the doctor could determine on what type of chemo drug to use. My questions are :
Is it possible in a person to be diagnosed with two types of cancer?
Why is suffering with anemia after radiation when his bone marrow biopsy diagnosed that its not defective?
Doctors pls help us out on this!!!!!!
Thank you. Hoping you could give us answers .

Desperate daughter.
