Gastric Cancer

[GASTRIC]

My mother was diagnosed with gastric cancer about one month ago. Her lymph nodes are also affected in the area along with lymph nodes between her kidneys.She is hospitalized at the moment;has a feeding tube in, on nausea medication. She is on a liquid diet and when she does have anything to eat, it is two tablespoons and she is full. The doctor has started chemo(5FU) and will also start the other 2 chemo drugs at the beginning of the week. The oncologist has suggested chemotherapy right now to shrink the tumor, followed by surgery and then followed by chemotherapy I would like to know the prognosis of anyone else out there and if there are any cases in your family of gastric cancer. Please let me know.
