endometrium cancer

Post a new topicby tutz on Mon Aug 10, 2009 1:01 pm

I was diagnosed in 2004 with endometrium cancer stage 1. I had a complete histo and biopsies of all surrounding tissue sent to pathology. I was told all cancer were erradicate. Stayed with oncologist 3 of 5 years, I was told no cancer cells in blood. Released to Family doctor for follow up ca125 and cat scans (none was done). After two years with family prationer, I was diagnosed as a resulf of emergency umblical hernia surgery there were endometrium cells growing ontop op the hernia. Somebody explain to me how this could happen????? confused.

I have endometrial cancer, but I also have endometriosis. Do you have endometriosis? If you do, parts of the endometrium can actually form in other areas of your body such as the stomach or that hernia, even. Either way, you might want to get another checkup. You do know that the recurrence rate is common for endometrial cancer within the 3-6 year mark, right?

I was told I didn't, and I did not know that there is a recurrence rate for what the doctor told me. I was led to believe that I was cancer free forever..........
