Spinal Cord Compresson C5

Post a new topicby LadyConure on Sat Oct 27, 2007 1:46 am

For over 20 years I have had peripheral neuropathy My first surgery was in 1996 at C5-6. The doctor said he could relieve some pain but he could not correct the fact that a spur was lodged in the cord at that level and could not be removed. My condition further deteriorated until in 2000, I had surgery at C6-7 for a bulging disc.

There is nerve root damage at C5-6 and my arms are greatly affected. Now, L2-3 is creating problems and there seems to be an open space where my cord is exposed at the base of my spine which causes a whole new set of issues.

There are times my body feels as though the pain is all encompassing as if I had a severe sunburn and even air hurt - excruciating. The majority of the time, I have trouble with bowel/bladder control, peripheral neuropathy over the major portion of my body and there seems to be NO resolution.

I filed for disability but the judge doesn't believe my doctors and doesn't believe me even though the evidence is right in front of her face. I have a seizure disorder and have developed blood pressure elevation, angina, liver disease (tylenol poisoning) and currently do not have insurance and no way to obtain medical care.

My depression is a constant battle and I feel totally alone. I feel helpless and that I somehow have done something wrong where I don't deserve any relief. I can't take this much longer. I don't want to hurt any more.
