MRI

Post a new topicby Guest on Sat Apr 06, 2002 11:23 am

I had two MRI's done on my lower back and hip in Nov, Dec. 2001. Both were normal. I am now having another problem, hematuria Urologist did a scope of bladder yesterday - normal. IVP scheduled next week. Would the MRI have picked up a problem with my kidney if one had been there?
Very frightend. Please respond asap.

MRI's of the lower back and hip may show parts of the kidneys, but not really enough to be diagnostic. IVP is more reliable. Hematuria is a common finding and often means very little. Good luck!

Thank you for responding to me. I appreciate the encouragement. I do know that I need to follow up on this and I am. It is helpful to know there are less serious diagnosis.
