ct scan c&s contrast -- what's going to happen?

Post a new topicby searching101 on Sun Oct 28, 2007 4:00 am

I've had pain lower left side of my pelvis, I'm female, So many issues right now, with menstrual bleeding, then my bladder quit working & had to learn to self-catheterize myself (I'm going on my own now)
So i blamed this pain on mensruation but this dull ache stayed on my left side during the next cycle.

My question is. My urologist ordered a scan when my I lost the feeling to urinate a month ago. My family dr ordered A ct scan c&s (he has lines above the c & S) & it says with contrast. I might have this done before I go to an obgyn. should I ?

What will happen during this test. Do you think I should remind my family dr of my urologist test before going through this one? Is this a duplicate test?

Thanks
D

I had the test, Get to the hospital 1 hour early, I had to drink 4 large cups of tap water with an iodine solution. After drinking you may leave the hospital or an hour or so till the water makes it's way to the bladder, I was allowed to empty. they put some sort of iv in & injected something that was suppose to make me warm, & give me a metal taste in my mouth, I didn't have any effects, I wore sweat pants so I could stay clothed & got on the ct scan table & when the machine moved I had to hold my breath. this was done to rule out a hernia, & it did discover a possible problem with my uterus.
