Colorectal Cancer

Hi All,

my father has recently been diagnosed with colon cancer, and last week he had the tumor removed. The tumor was however though the bowel wall so they are doing some further test to see if its in the lymph nodes. The liver and lungs are clear. Is this a positive result? If its through the bowel wall will it always be in the lymph nodes, and if that is the case, is that very bad news?

Any opinions appreciated.
