Rectal Cancer

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Apr 09, 2002 8:45 pm

2 months ago I had a colonoscopy in which a canerous tumor was removed. Two weeks later the doctor removed a section of the tissue at the base of the tumor to see if the cancer spread. The test results of the biopsy along with a CT Scan came back with no signs of cancer. From this point I go back for a 3 month check for return and another colonoscopy in 7 months. Are there any other tests or procedures I should be checking into?

Most recently PET scan has been approved for the staging and follow-up of patients with colon cancer. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
