CAlif. have mass on pancreas, found by the E U S procedure not e r c p. Also found on the octeoscan. Postive Lipase is high and L D H is high, c peptide is high, and glucagon is opposite it is very low.
Was wondering if anyboy had used U C L A in los angeles for any type of pancreas cancer. I know they are the best for the Liver, but not for the Pancreas. I went to M D Anderson in Houston and found out it was the worse place to go on the face of this earth. Dont go there anyone. Only one doc. does the E U S and only one. They do have a good oncology surgeon yes, but thats all. Anybody out there know where I can go besides Hopkins or Anderson, anybody had there pancereas operated on and where? Anybody a vicitm of pancreatic cancer , wheather it be Islet cell, endocrine tumor, or carcinoid? Please respond.........
Re: Pancreatic Cancer Who's the Best Hospital in Calif and theBest Doc or Where do I Go?Unfortunately there are no specialists in pancreatic surgery; the reason
being that there are not enough pancreatic cancers diagnosed so that one person would be able to survive doing only pancreatic surgeries. I would suggest that chose a surgeon by the number of pancreatic surgeries he/she does per year and what the complication rate of those surgeries is. Also I would not spend a large amount of time looking for a surgeon as the most important thing to have done is removal of the tumor before it grows and becomes inoperable. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
Looking for the best surgeon for pancreas cancer in So. CAlif...
