ovarian CA stage 3 maintance treatments

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed May 01, 2002 4:32 pm

surgery 5/01 followed by taxol & carboplatin for 6 treatments, followed by Doxol 4 treatments, followed by Recurrent CA, followed by carboplatin
3 treatments. Now ca125 is 43. Tumor is still the size of an orange. Will chemo be a way of life or not?...What is the longest time you can continue to have chemo every 3 to 4 weeks? What can we expect?

If the tumor does not grow and the chemotherapies are keeping it under control the therapy may in fact be a way of life. I would suspect that you can continue therapy until you get tired or your bone marrow begins to lose its ability to recover. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
