Colorectal Cancer

Hi, I am a 35 year old black male that is a bit over weight. for the past year and a half i have had diarrhea on and off again. My bm seem to change too. I get a lot of gas too. I told my doctor about this months ago and he said we do not worry about diarrhea unless it has been over 6 month, blood in the dm and/ or losing weight. I went on about a year and this is still happening. Finally I told him i was concerned about colon cancer. He gave me a home bm test to take home and did blood work. I did the test and he told me that they could not find anything wrong with me but to have a Colonoscopy. I am not scheduled to have one at the end of October. I am scared it may be colon cancer. I just want to know what you guys think. I have not seen blood in my dm, but i do have changes in bm. I have a lot of gas. I do have bm that are thinner than usual. Is there anything else that would cause these symptoms? If it is colon cancer have i waited to long to be effectively treated? Thanks for any info.
