Mom - 74 years oldMy mom has been feeling bad for about a month. She has a colonoscopy scheduled for next week. I am worried that she might have colon cancer. She says she feels like she has a blockage on her left side. She has had a change in her bowel habits and had blood in the toilet or paper a couple of times. What is most interesting is the amount of pain she says that she is in. She says it is on her left side in her abdomen, groin, and around the back in the area of the kidney. She has no energy. Up until a month ago she could work in the yard, clean the house, and cook. Now she gets out of breath with very little exertion (no heart problem). She stays in bed most of the day. She has been to the ER and her doctor and tests have been run. So far, the doctors have found nothing wrong. With the amount of pain she tells me she is in (pain killers do not help much), I can't believe there is nothing wrong. She has not lost weight, but has gained some. Has anyone experienced these types of symptoms? Her last colonoscopy was two years ago and everything was fine. It is hard waiting for next week to get here. Could this be colon/rectal cancer that has spread? Any responses would be most appreciated. Thanks for allowing me to post.
