Liver problems

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Apr 14, 2002 12:51 am

My Dad was just diagnosed with colon cancer a couple of weeks ago, and it is pretty bad. It has already done damage to his liver. He can not eat anything because his tastes buds are shot. He said it is because of his liver being messed up. Is this true? And if it is, if the chemo and radiation help, will his taste buds come back? Or what foods would you suggest he eat?

It is possible that he has taste changes due to liver disease. If the cancer is brought under control and the liver damage stopped and the liver can repair itself the taste changes should go away. I would suggest using more seasoning for the food so that he may experience some taste sensations. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.

Well thanks for taking your time with my question, it is too late now, my dads time here is limited.
