My symptons are messing with my head. I am only 15 years old, and it seems that I have all these symptoms. I am really scared right now. I first started to find blood in my stool a long time ago. Probably about five years ago. Then it went away, and recently, it came back about a month ago. I went to the doctor, and they put a gloved finger in my rectum, and said that I was constipated,and had lack of fiber, so thats why I was bleeding from the rectum, and finding blood in the stool. The doctor asked me if I had any stomach pains, and I didnt at the time. When I got home, the bottom left side of my abdomin, right at my belt line, had an uncomfortbale feeling. A week later, It was still there, and it was an uncomfortable pain. On a scale from 1 to 10 it was probably a 2 or a 3. I went to go see the doctor and she said that since I am constipated, the bowel is stuck in my colon, and its stretching it out, which is why my abdomin is hurting. Its been two weeks since I saw the doctor about my abdomin pains, and I very briefly, and occasionally feel that pain, but I still have it everyday. Reading the symptoms on this site for colon cancer, all my symptoms fit in. Except Im not sure about the yellowish skin and the loss of appetite, and also my rectal bleeding has stopped for about a week. I am still not sure, and Im pretty scared, and its suppose to be my birthday in a few days too! This is suppose to be a happy week for me, and now Im just really scared, and i keep thinkin about this subject. If anyone here has colon cancer and is willing to, please email me telling me your first signs of colon cancer and what the doctor told you, and what your symptoms were a little bit later. Thank you!

If indeed you had colon cancer untreated for two years (the length of your symptoms) it would be very obvious at this time. Most likely what your physician has told you is the correct viewpoint. If you are still concerned ask for a barium enema or colonoscopy for further evaluation of the colon. Thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
