Colon Cancer

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Apr 09, 2002 8:01 pm

Dear Physician:

For the past 20+ years, I have been aware that I have rectal polyps. However, following my initial examination, I was extremely inhibited and ignored the problem for years. I have had intermittent bleeding, and more recently, narrow stools, difficulty feeling thatI have totally relieved myself, and some discomfort. Recently, a growth appeared, which I estimate to be about 1" in length, and shaped like a pencil point. It is protruding rear part of the back passage. I am terrified to have an examination, but have described this to my physician. What is this protrusion?

Thank you.

I cannot tell you what the protrusion is. However, I can tell you that denial and anxiety can lead to more problems then facing whatever truth there is about the protrusion. PLEASE HAVE THE AREA EXAMINED IMMEDIATELY. Only then, with appropriate evaluation and diagnosis can you relax. thank you for using oncologychannel and good luck.
