colon cancer

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Apr 08, 2002 10:37 pm

My step father at age 65 had blood in stool and abdominal pain, causing treatment to be necessary. He couldn't eat. They took it out and found it in his abdominal lymph nodes. Is this terminal? What is the truth about his prognosis?

I assume he had colon cancer. If there was involvement of the lymph
nodes he would have stage 3 (Duke C) colon cancer. With chemotherapy his
chances are approximately 60% that the disease will not return. Thank you
for using oncologychannel and good luck.
