severe reaction to chemotherapy?

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Jul 08, 2002 12:14 am

My Mother has stage 3 ovarian cancer And is on her 2nd line of medicine. She was put topotecan (1.0) for 5 days. Since then she has been vomiting and eventually hospitalized. The doctor and hospital are doing their best to stop the vomiting and keep her hydrated. The doctor beleives that this is a bad reaction to the chemo and has ruled out intestinal blockage since she is having bowel movements.
But,I am still concerned that this reaction has lasted so long. Is that normal? I also can't understand why she seems to have excess bile that she vomits up like nothing.
Can someone please help me better understand what is going on?
Thank you!Krisber
