Stage II cervical cancer

Post a new topicby catlover6 on Fri May 23, 2008 1:25 pm

I have just been diagnosed with stage II cervical cancer. My oncologist says that we should proceed with radiation and low-dose chemo She also said that a hysterectomy was not necessary. Shouldn't that be done also, just to be sure that Everything is gone??? I am really scared about having the radiation and chemo ...mostly worried about the side effects, I really need to work and don't have a good sick leave policy. Has anyone else done the radiation chemo combo and if so were you still able to function okay? Also, I have read about a pill form of low dose chemo, that would certainly help with my schedule but has anyone every taken it and can it be used for cervical cancer? I just really want this to be over but I know that a long battle is just begining!
I really don't make a very good patient and the stress is really getting to me. Please give any advice on coping with cancer and the treatment.

Im also a cancer patient and im on my radiotheraphy and chemo simultaneouly, well as far as my treatment is concern Im still functioning well, At first I really dont like this procedure because of some mild side effect on me but I learned to accept this treatment because i had no choice, this is the only way that I will be cured you just need to be strong and accept the fact that you are sick and need to be treated. Have faith in God and you will be ok.
