2nd check in

Post a new topicby KAT111 on Wed Aug 08, 2007 9:53 pm

Hi, I am super confused with so much information out there, today I went in to get a biopsy done.

After my examination the doctor was not to explicite in telling much information, he said that I have moderate to mild or mild to moderate abnormal cells. What does this really mean? He stated that most likely with what he saw, I may need to undergo surgery to scrap off the abnormal cells in the cervix.

I am also a little confused with internet information as to abnormal cell changes being related to HIV/AIDS? Is this so?

Please help I am confused, super confused!!!!!

The changes are not related to AIDS/HIV but are usually caused by human papiloma virus (HPV) which is sexually transmitted. See http://www.sexualhealthchannel.com/std/genitalwarts.shtml. Good luck
