Dazed and indeed confused!

Post a new topicby jambo on Wed Nov 07, 2007 7:24 am

Hi,

Please can someone explain a few things for me?! Back in April this year I had a loop excision and endometrial biopsies following several abnormal pap smears and symptons (such as bleeding after sex, painful sex, mid cycle bleeding, bloating and more!), the colposcopy showed up a large area of abnormality and it was later diagnosed as glandular. So since the loop excision I was told the endometrial biopsy was inconclusive due to lack of edometrial tissue available. So was told to wait 6 months- six months was up yestreday and I went back for another colposcopy and an endometrial biopsy, to which the new doctor has now decided I don't need an endometrial biopsy after all because I don't suffer random bleeding. Even once I explained she said she won't do the test until they get this lot of pap smea results. Also she says I have a large area of epithelial growth? But wouldn't tell me anything about it? Is this something to be worried about? Should I still be pushing for endometrial tests or is she right? I just don't know - but I do know I am stressing and they aren't helping matters!! Please help?!!! Also will all this messing affect fertility?
P.S. Apparently because I am only 26 they don't want to investigate fully!!

HI, I hope all gets resolved. I don't have any explainations but would advise that you go get a second opinion. The sooner you can get this done the sooner you will know what you are dealing with. Good luck.

Well- a little update for you! Today I have been told that my latest smears are clear! Fab news except that the hospital now say I am simply on 6 monthly checks. Ignoring the epithelial growth so I assume they believe there is nothing to worry about there- trouble is the pain and bleeding is still there so in that respect I am no further on! Starting to wonder if there is light at the end of this gloomy tunnel! Meanwhile my GP has recomended I go private! So I think that will be my next move!
Thank you
J x
