Hi there my name is April. I just read your story and wanted to tell you I have a story under denial. This has been a really hard thing to go through but it is really amazing how strong you can be. When I was diagonosed my gynocologist sent me to an oncologist. When she examined me she told me she wanted to do a hysterectomy. I went the next day for the surgery. She explained to me that she would like to keep my ovaries because at my age she did not want to put me in menopause. Well after the surgery things had not gone as planned. My tumor had latched onto one of my ovaries so she had to take them both. I believe most doctors prefer to keep the ovaries especially if you are young. I did not have any children but in my case it had to be done. I have been married for eight years and have a wonderful stepdaughter so that is a blessing. I have managed pretty well considering i am in menopause at 31. I have noticed some hot flashes but that is pretty much it. As far as the hysterectomy is concerned I would recommend a full one. It really has not been that bad. My oncologist wanted to put me on hormones but i decided not to do that. I was in the hospital about four days. I was really sore and it was hard to walk but i eventually did it and after i got home I healed quickly. I was nervous about getting the staples out but that did not hurt. It really depends on how your hysterectomy is performed. I had to be cut but some people can get laproscopy which i heard is much better. I really wish you the best. Keep me updated on your story. God Bless
