Carcinoid Tumor of IleumHi!
I was diagnosed with carcinoid tumor of ileum 3 years a go. I had surgery with a resection done. I was told I have lymph node involvement, 2 lymphs out of 7. I have been getting Chromogranin A(tumor tests) done every 3 months since then. It has been just recently that the levels are rising even though they are still within normal range. has anyone else experienced this. I am wondering if I am getting another tumor somewhere else?
Re: Carcinoid Tumor of IleumHi iwas just diagnosed with this in May.I went in for Colonoscopy because i had IBS and it was getting worse as many as 10 episodes of diahrea a day, loosing weight, low grade fevers and very fatigue. They found a Carcinoid tumor in my small intestine.I was rushed into emergency surgery less than 24 hours of colonoscopy because they also preforated my bowel.I stayed in hospital for week after that surgery then 6 weeks later i was getting a right hemicolectomy.I was in hospital a week after that it took my primary doctor 10 months before he took me serious and sent me to a Gastronoligist. It was in 4 out of 21 of my Lymp Glands.I'm new to this 43 years old and not sure what to expect but was told chemo would'nt work and had to be seen every 6 weeks for 5 years before i would be in full remission.
Thanks Kimberly
